We built community connections in food access with pantries, community meals and producers in 2020. We started growing flowers to distribute to pantries for our flower access program in the summer of 2021. And, in 2023 we are now a budding social enterprise- where we provide locally and ethically sourced seasonal flowers to pantries and community meals and sell flowers to supporters by way of preorders and pop-ups in effort to encourage and increase equitable and inclusive care in regional food access.

I’ve worked in the floral industry since I was a young teen. After starting a career in education, I went on to graduate school to study neuroscience and pathology. That experience led to me shifting into working in the mental health field in the treatment of eating disorders-all while continuing my work as a florist. After relocating to the White Mountains, I wanted to back off from clinical care to focus more on nutrition access and destigmatizing and recognizing community disparities in our rural region. I formed relationships with pantries and their patrons and then came Pantry Posies.
